Plungės rajono savivaldybės administracijoje veikia vaikų kambarys. Už vaikus yra atsakingi jų tėvai, savivaldybė tik suteikia sąlygas vaikams saugiai ir trumpai pabūti užimtumo ir laisvalaikio erdvėje, kurioje veiklą vykdo jaunimo reikalų koordinatorė. Pažymėtina, kad vaikų kambarys pritaikytas tik trumpalaikei (paprastai ne ilgesnei nei 3 valandų) priežiūrai ir tik tais atvejais, kai tėveliai dėl susiklosčiusių aplinkybių neturi kam patikėti savo atžalų priežiūros.
